As I See It…

The drama is finally over, but the Screwers started their drive toward 72 victories in the Mac-ha era with a 3-3 tie in their Cactus League opener today against Oakland.  Get used to this kind of box score,( aside from the tie, which will turn into a loss) they will probably have to use eight pitchers every game during the regular season just to have a shot at those valuable 72 wins. Suppan, Bush, Coffey Julio (now the proud owner of an 18.00 ERA), Green (who he?) Hoffman, Morian (?) and Quin combined for a 3-3 tie over ten innings.  Craig “Big Poppa” Counsell went 3 for 3 and Corey Hart delivered the clutch game-tying home run that sent dozens of fans into a wild celebration that carried long into the desert afternoon.

Hey, has anyone seen a 2009 pocket schedule?  Maybe they won’t play this year?  Anyway, as long as they are apparently still in production, why don’t you send me your ideas for the 2009 Screwer catch phrase, you know, like something along these lines:
