Hot! Twin Killing

Brew-tal, as in brutal.  That’s the only way to describe last night’s fiasco at $6.75 Miller Park against the Mighty Twinkies.  “Probably our worst game of the year,” muttered head coach Ken Macha afterward.  He forgot to add “so far”, and the reporter forgot to follow up with, “Compared to what, Ken, the last thirteen games?”.  This team can’t hit, can’t field and can’t pitch, and here come the Giants, Mets, Cubs, Cardinals and Dodgers, and why not mention the Reds and the Pirates while we’re at it in that order.  But have no fear, Blewer fans, here comes Braden Looper to the rescue tonight, winless in four June starts with a 7.97 ERA and opponents batting .322 against him.  So that’ll make it five straight losses unless the red hot Screwers, led by Bill Hall’s smoking bat, outslug the Twinks tonight.  It only gets better when Macha  trots out AAA approved Mike Burns against Scott Baker for the matinee on Thursday. Can you say six losses in a row? I knew you could.

Hey, look at it this way, in their impatient manner, the Screw-Ha’s couldn’t wait to nosedive in July and August, they’re just getting after it right now.  For the well educated, that means trading in your “important” home stand tickets  and heading down to the Lakefront, where bands like Eddie Butts, Lynyrd Skynrd and Kid Rock will at least deliver entertainment worthy of your hard earned dollar. (Shameless plug for Summerfest, sorry).

Oh yeah, big Bucks trade yesterday.

And for what.
