Going, Going…

…Gone.  The 2012 defending NL Comedy Central Champions have begun their exit from the baseball playoff picture. The Brewers have effectively taken themselves out of any post season consideration, stating their case by dropping the first two gamesof a crucial three game set against In Dusty We Rtusty and the first place Reds. They now are 9.5 games behind, more than likey 10.5 adter getting swept today.

No surprise here, as the current trend of sufficient starting pitching backed by a punchless offense continued again on Friday and Saturday. Add to that a four run first inning effort from Yovanit Gallardo yesterday, and there has been absolutely no cause for optimism heading into today’s matchup against Johnny Cueto in the series finale.

Tail up Wisvonsin sports fans, the NFL season is right around the corner, and soon we can concentrate on the ineptitude of The Packer defemse while we marvel at the statistical offensive machine led by Aaron Rodgers.

In the meantime,it looks like we’ll have to wait for another 40 years before the city of Milwaukee delivers another divisional champion ib baseball. For now, the Screwers, like the home runs pounded out by Cincinnati the last two days, are going, going, gone.
